Bulls confirm Orford capture

07:31 - 25th, Nov 2009

Australian scrum-half Matt Orford has joined Bradford Bulls on a three-year contract despite recent fears that his move to Super League had hit the buffers.

The Bulls announced their intention to sign the 31-year-old half-back earlier in the month, but Gold Coast Titans winger Chris Walker's claimed that he had also agreed a deal at Odsal put the move in jeopardy.

Bradford had only one remaining overseas player vacancy on their books ahead of the start of the new season.

However, they have now released a statement in which they claim to have officially completed the signing of former Manly Sea Eagles captain Orford.

"I'm very excited and I can't wait to join Bradford," Orford told the club's official website.

"I've always wanted to play in Super League and this opportunity came at the right time.

"I'm coming to a great club with a great roster. Speaking to (head coach) Steve (McNamara), I'm really excited about coming over and trying to be part of something special."
