Hull hit back from ten points down at Salford to clinch an 18-14 victory and end a run of six successive defeats.

Early tries by Darrell Goulding and Richie Myler appeared to have set the newly-promoted Reds on course for only their fourth win of the season.

However, the visitors hit back to lead 16-10 at half-time thanks to tries by Mark Calderwood, Richard Horne and Richard Whiting.

Salford cut the gap to two points after the break when Goulding went over for his second try of the match but a Danny Tickle penalty ensured Hull returned across the Pennines with the victory.
