The 2007 Super League Man of Steel award has been won by St Helens youngster James Roby. The 21-year-old hooker has been in outstanding form this season, helping the Saints reach this Saturday's Grand Final against Leeds Rhinos. The winner of the award is regarded as the player who has made the greatest impact on the 2007 Super League season. Roby made his debut for St Helens in March 2004 against Widnes Vikings after coming through the academy ranks at Knowsley Road. He made his international debut last year after being called up to Great Britain's Tri-Nations squad for the tour of New Zealand and Australia. Roby was also the first try scorer at the new Wembley Stadium after his effort in this year's Challenge Cup Final success against Catalans Dragons. |
