Swansea City skipper Gary Monk will be out of action for at least another two weeks because of an ongoing calf complaint. He picked up the original injury in the Championship win over Queens Park Rangers on October 3 and has featured just once since - away at Scunthorpe United four weeks later - before breaking down in the warm-up before the South Wales derby against Cardiff City on November 7. A Swansea spokesman has confirmed the news, suggesting the 30-year-old will miss the trip to Peterborough this Saturday as well as the upcoming home fixtures against Plymouth Argyle and Nottingham Forest. Speaking to South Wales Evening Post, the spokesman said: "Garry has been feeling okay but then suffering recurrences of the injury, as happened before the Cardiff game. "A tear has been found in the calf and he must rest for around two more weeks." |
