Resolute Cottagers delight Roy

10:50 - 29th, Nov 2009

Roy Hodgson admitted he was pleased that his tired Fulham side were able to show enough character to come from behind to draw 1-1 with Bolton Wanderers.

The Cottagers have had a busy programme because of their Europa League commitments with last Saturday's defeat at Birmingham City being followed by a midweek victory against Blackburn Rovers.

Hodgson is aware that fatigue is a problem for his team, so was particularly pleased to see them grab a share of the spoils thanks to Damien Duff's 75th-minute equaliser.

He said: "I thought we were unlucky to go in at half-time not winning because we had one chance cleared off the line.

"But I'm full of praise for the players for the way they came out and attacked in the second half.

"We played some much better football after the break. But I must pay credit to Bolton for their resolute back four and their goalkeeper. They came up with the answers when we asked them.

"I'd have liked to have won the game but it would have been a harsh pill to swallow had we lost.

"Bolton's goal was very good. Klasnic took it excellently. We had to work hard and play a lot of football to get the equaliser. But to play three matches inside a week is a tough ask so all credit to the players."
