Reading manager Brendan Rodgers faces a race against time to bring a striker to the club ahead of Thursday's loan signing deadline. The misfiring Madejski Stadium outfit loiter in 20th place in the Championship table and Rodgers wants to add new blood in to push them away from the drop zone. With Noel Hunt out for the rest of the season, Simon Church picking up an injury on international duty and winger Jimmy Kebe another fitness worry, Rodgers is looking to act. Speaking to the Evening Post, he said: "I'm still looking for the right type of player who will add something different to the group we already have here. "I was working hard during the international break, but we have a young squad and it's important that I keep the balance right. "I'm looking for a particular type of player." |
