King: We have staying power

16:11 - 25th, Nov 2009

Leicester City midfielder Andy King believes manager Nigel Pearson's insistence that his players play until the final whistle is proving vital this season.

King opened his account for the campaign with a last-minute winner against Plymouth Argyle at the weekend and it isn't the first time they have scored late in the day.

Dany N'Guessan struck a 90th minute equaliser at Watford in September, while Bruno Berner has hit consolations in defeats against Preston North End and West Bromwich Albion earlier in the season and King thinks it is down to his manager.

Speaking to Leicester Mercury, he said: "We have strong belief in the side that we will always score goals and that 95-minute mentality has been drilled into us.

"It is something he has instilled in us since he came to the club.

"You only have to look at his track record as a manager."
