Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson is not about to be axed, according to Trotters chairman Phil Gartside. Megson's side are in the relegation zone after losing 2-0 at home to local rivals Blackburn Rovers on Sunday after which the Bolton boss admitted his side's confidence levels were very low. Bolton have lost their last four games in all competitions, finding the net just once while conceding 15 goals. Megson has failed to win over the Bolton fans since succeeding Sammy Lee in the Reebok Stadium hot-seat with his popularity currently at an all-time low. However, Gartside said: "The next few games are going to be important, as they always are. "The season is over 38 games though and we remain confident. We have been playing some good football, it's been decent stuff. "No-one presses panic buttons around here. I have been in the game long enough not to do that." |
