Eintracht Frankfurt striker Ioannis Amanatidis has been told he needs to have surgery on his troublesome knee injury.

The Greece international has already been out of action for almost three weeks since he picked up the problem in his team's 2-1 win against Hannover.

Amanatidis is scheduled to have the operation on Monday but the club is unsure how long the 27-year-old will need to make a full recovery.

Amanatidis has scored three league goals in eight appearances for Eintracht this term to bring his tally for the club to 41 in 124 games.
