Former Liverpool goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek could remain in the Premier League after claiming he is wanted by Bolton Wanderers. The Poland international was handed a free transfer by the Reds at the end of last season and was linked with a surprise move to Real Madrid last month as number two to Iker Casillas. However, Dudek has now revealed he has been approached by Wanderers with a view to extending his six-year stay in England. Wanderers boss Sammy Lee is exploring his options after failing to tie his number one Jussi Jaaskelainen down to a long-term contract. The long-serving Finland shot-stopper has just 12 months remaining on his Reebok Stadium contract and could leave on a free transfer next summer. "I made a decision to leave England, but Bolton's offer has made me have a rethink," Dudek told The Sun. "I still haven't signed anything with Real Madrid and I have other offers to consider very carefully." The 34-year-old has reportedly been offered a three-year contract by the Trotters. |
