Addicks stopper exits

15:08 - 16th, Jun 2007

Charlton Athletic centre-half Talal El Karkouri is set to end his stay in English football to head to the Middle East.

The 30-year-old Morocco international had been with the Addicks for three seasons, but has agreed to join Qatar Sports Club on a two-year contract.

El Karkouri told the News Shopper: "I depart with good memories from Charlton, but I'm bored with European football anyway.

"I feel it is about time for me and my family to live in a country like Qatar."

El Karkouri scored eight goals in 87 appearances for Charlton.

Meanwhile the Addicks are still keen to bring West Ham midfielder Hayden Mullins to The Valley.

Mullins was set to be part of the deal to take Darren Bent to Upton Park, but the collapse of that move has not ended Charlton's interest in the Hammers schemer.
