Alguersuari confirms 2010 seat

10:57 - 26th, Nov 2009

Jaime Alguersuari has confirmed that he will be racing alongside team-mate Sebastien Buemi with Toro Rosso next season.

The 19-year-old replaced Sebastien Bourdais for the last eight races of the 2009 season but had to retire from five of them with his best performance coming in Brazil where he finished 14th.

He told Marca when asked if he would be part of the Toro Rosso team in 2010: "Yes, we signed a couple of months ago."

When Alguersuari made his debut at the Hungarian Grand Prix in July, the Spaniard became the youngest ever Formula One driver at the age of 19 years and 125 days.

Qualifying in last place at the Hungaroring following a mechanical problem, he finished the race in 12th, one place ahead of Buemi.

Buemi picked up six points in the season just ended with his best finishes coming at Australia and Brazil when he came home seventh.
