Ferrari's Felipe Massa admitted he 'loved the place' after winning the Turkish Grand Prix for the second successive year. The Brazilian driver claimed his maiden Grand Prix win at Istanbul Park in 2006 and lead from start to finish this time out to seal victory ahead of team-mate Kimi Raikkonen. Massa claimed pole position from Lewis Hamilton with a late charge during qualifying, but was able to win his third race of the season without coming under any real pressure after producing a composed drive in hot conditions. "To win a second race in a row here, starting from pole, is amazing," said the Brazilian. "I love the place. "Turkey is where my career made a switch and I started winning races and fighting with the front-runners. "Having the second consecutive win here is fantastic. It is difficult to find the right words." Meanwhile, Hamilton refused to panic despite seeing his lead over McLaren team-mate Fernando Alonso in the drivers' standings reduced to five points. The rookie Briton had looked to be coasting towards a third-placed finish before a late puncture saw him drop down to fifth position. "It was just a little bit of a problem but you always have setbacks," he claimed. "I'm still leading by five points. It is not over." |
